Kitchen Manager
*Hourly Rate: £13.26
*Location: Sheffield
*Job Type: Full-time, 37hrs per week, flexible hours
*Contract Length: 4 weeks (unless extended)
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Manager to oversee a small-scale catering operation for SEN children and vulnerable young people. The ideal candidate will be capable of running the kitchen independently, as they will be the sole person in the kitchen on most days.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Follow the established menu to prepare healthy meals.
*Manage all aspects of food ordering and kitchen inventory.
*Oversee the kitchen service, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of meals.
*Conduct health and safety checks and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
*Direct the menu and make adjustments as needed to enhance meal offerings.
*Run the kitchen independently, with an assistant available only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
*Engage in a special Friday kitchen session with children, supported by a tutor and attendants.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Must hold at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
*Level 2 Health & Safety Certification.
*Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently.
*Excellent time management and organizational skills.
*Experience in catering or kitchen management, preferably in an educational or care setting.
