An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to join a reputable practice in Newbury that we are working with on a retained basis. This dual-role position offers a mix of accounts preparation, audit assignments, and management accounts, reporting directly to a Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Preparation
*Prepare annual accounts in line with FRS requirements from client records.
*Conduct analytical reviews, control account reconciliations, and ensure completeness of financial data.
*Draft tax computations and liaise with the Tax Team for review.
*Assist in improving client record-keeping and internal efficiency.
*Finalise accounts packages and correspondence post-client meetings.
Management Accounts
*Prepare timely and accurate management accounts.
*Perform variance analysis and provide draft tax computations.
*Post adjustments to client systems and prepare journals for integration.
*Finalise management accounts packages and client communications.
Audit Assignments
*Participate in both on-site and office-based audits.
*Plan audit approach, prepare documentation, and liaise with clients pre-year-end.
*Review audit files for compliance with standards and ensure completeness.
*Draft audit highlights, management letters, and finalise audit packages.
Requirements:
*Proven experience in both audit and accounts within a UK practice.
*Strong technical knowledge of FRS and tax computations.
*Proficiency with IRIS and other accounting software.
*Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
