Kenton (HA3) | Fully Office-Based
8:45am – 4:30pm | Temporary Contract until May 2026
£23.81 PAYE / £30.88 Umbrella

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Team Leader to join our Adults Day Services team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge—empowering them to live with independence, choice, and dignity.
You will lead a dedicated staff team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, creative activity planning, and strong partnership working across the community.
Key Responsibilities
Service Leadership & Management
*Ensure appropriate staff coverage to deliver safe, effective, and responsive services.
*Maintain high quality standards, meeting legislative and best practice requirements.
*Lead, supervise and develop staff, including performance management, training, and appraisals.
*Support the Team Manager with compliance, detailed record keeping, and preparation for inspections.
*Manage complaints, safeguarding concerns, and incident reporting within Council frameworks.
Support to Service Users
*Promote independence through person-centred planning and community-focused activities.
*Design and deliver innovative daily and weekly programmes tailored to individual needs.
*Ensure service users’ rights to choice, privacy, and dignity are upheld at all times.
*Carry out risk assessments for new referrals and ensure suitable placements.
Community & Multi-Agency Partnership Working
*Build strong knowledge of local community groups, agencies, and resources.
*Maintain professional relationships with social care teams, health professionals, and external partners.
*Attend safeguarding meetings and provide accurate case information.
Service Development
*Work with the Team Manager to review resources and develop new opportunities for service growth.
*Collaborate with external organisations to enhance personal outcomes for service users.
Record Keeping & Compliance
*Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and contribute to performance monitoring.
*Ensure confidentiality in line with GDPR.
*Organise service users’ lunch provision, taking into account culture, choice, and dietary needs.
Flexibility
*Work shifts as required, including participation in an on-call rota.
*Carry out additional duties aligned with the role and service needs.
What We’re Looking For (Desirable Criteria)
*Strong knowledge of individual care planning needs assessments, and risk assessments.
*Proven experience supervising staff within care or support services.
*Experience working with multiple agencies and professionals.
*Background in implementing quality standards and evaluating service outcomes.
*Experience managing crisis situations.
Requirements
*Enhanced DBS (including Adults’ Barred List).
*Ability to work flexibly, including evenings/weekends if required.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.
*Understanding of Council policies including equality, customer care, GDPR, and health & safety.
