Contract Type: Temporary/Locum
Salary: £50 to £65ph
*Join a long established multi office law firm in Dorset, on a Locum basis.
*Requirement is for an experienced Employment Solicitor/Lawyer to join the team to cover a recruitment gap.
*Handling an Employment Law caseload of non-contentious and contentious matters (predominantly claimant), also also some team supervisory duties, if possible (not essential).
*Position is to start mid March 2026 for an initial 3 months, likely longer until the firm recruits a new permanent candidate.
*Full or part time hours can be considered and, whilst the preference is for some on site attendance, this role can be considered on a fully remote basis!
Position Overview
Our client, an established multi-office high street practice, is looking for an experienced Employment Locum Solicitor/Lawyer to assist with this work as part of their Corporate & Commercial team. Hybrid/remote and flexible working feasible and good scope to take on quality work at a senior level.
The work will include Employment Law contract drafting, resolving employer/employee disputes, and general employment-related advisory work, as well as a working knowledge of the Employment Tribunal system.
Responsibilities
*Manage a diverse caseload.
*Work autonomously.
*Provide excellent legal advice to clients.
*Support the employment law team effectively, including supervisory and mentoring responsibilities, if possible.
*Handle matters from instruction to completion.
Requirements
*5+ years’ experience in Employment law, with experience in both contentious & non contentious matters.
*Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or similar.
*Proven ability to work on a standalone basis.
*Strong communication and client care skills.
