The Payroll Officer will manage multiple end-to-end monthly payrolls for around 340 workers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth day-to-day payroll operations using Sage Payroll. The role also supports pensions, rota management, payroll queries, and continuous process improvement while working on a hybrid pattern with Fridays from home.

Description
You’ll be responsible for delivering accurate, compliant payroll across the business, including:
*Processing multiple monthly payroll runs using Sage Payroll
*Maintaining payroll data and handling day-to-day payroll administration
*Administering workplace pension schemes, including auto-enrolment
*Calculating holiday pay in line with company policy and regulations
*Supporting rota management with Rotamaster
*Ensuring compliance with PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, SPP and pension regulations
*Investigating and resolving payroll queries and discrepancies
*Providing administrative support across the wider finance team
*Covering team duties during absence/holidays
*Protecting accuracy, confidentiality and integrity of payroll data
*Suggesting and supporting improvements to payroll processes
Profile
*Strong end-to-end payroll experience
*Knowledge of statutory calculations (SSP, SMP, SPP etc.) - Sage calculates these, but you must understand the rules
*Sage Payroll experience preferred (training can be provided for experienced payroll professionals)
*Confident working with multiple payrolls and large headcounts
*Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
