Service Manager - Transitional Housing
Location: Mid Sussex
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm + weekly late shift + participation in an on-call rota

The Role: Service Manager
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader in supported housing to take ownership of daily operations across services in Mid Sussex.
You will oversee multiple sites providing low-support accommodation for young people with basic independent living skills. Services are staffed Monday-Friday with a mobile night team offering safety checks across the county.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead day-to-day operations to meet contract requirements and service standards
*Embed Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE), Trauma-Informed Practice and restorative approaches
*Maintain safe, secure, welcoming accommodation with strong staff visibility
*Ensure targets around void turnaround, rent collection, move-on, EET outcomes, maintenance and tenant satisfaction are met
*Oversee referrals, assessments, risk management and co-produced support plans
*Ensure high safeguarding standards, professional boundaries and proactive risk management
*Maintain accurate records on client databases relating to risk, rent, safeguarding, incidents and multi-agency work
*Manage service budgets and generate supplementary income through fundraising avenues
*Lead delivery of a structured programme of groupwork and activities tailored to residents’ needs
*Lead, inspire and manage a team of up to 12 staff members
*Recruit, induct and support staff to maintain excellent service standards
*Ensure staff receive training, supervision, team meetings and reflective practice sessions
*Model positive behaviours and maintain a values-led, asset-based culture
Person Specification
*Significant experience managing supported housing for young people or adults at risk
*Strong leadership experience managing high-performing teams
*Comprehensive knowledge of housing management: compliance, voids, arrears, H&S, maintenance
*Experience embedding psychologically informed and trauma-informed practices
*Strong safeguarding expertise in residential settings
*Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
