Job Description:
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a mainstream primary school in Tower Hamlets, for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with challenging behaviour and ASD.
The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, and skilled at supporting pupils with complex needs. While the role is in a mainstream setting, experience in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) would be highly beneficial.
Key responsibilities:
*Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with challenging behaviour and ASD
*Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour, independence, and learning
*Assisting classroom staff with differentiated learning and resources
*Observing, monitoring, and recording pupil progress
*Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
We are looking for someone who:
*Has experience supporting children with ASD and challenging behaviour
*Is resilient, patient, and adaptable
*Has PRU experience (desirable)
*Works well in a team and communicates effectively
*Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
