Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer – Part Time – Up to £60 per hour Outside IR35 – Remote Working – Initial 3-6 months


Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an initial 3-6-month assignment. This role offers fully remote working arrangements and provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial and Procurement Lawyer to support a busy legal team.

The Role:
Position: Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer
Duration: Initial 3-6 months with the possibility for extension
Rate: Up to £60 per hour Outside IR35
Working Pattern: Part Time, 10-20 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
• Handling a broad range of commercial and procurement matters
• Providing legal advice on the implementation of the Procurement Act 2023
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and framework agreements
• Advising on governance, contract procedure rules, and tendering processes
• Supporting the wider legal and procurement teams with ad hoc matters as required

Ideal Candidate:
• Strong knowledge of commercial and procurement law, including upcoming legislative changes
• Excellent drafting, advisory, and communication skills
