Job Description:
I’m delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Brent Council for a detail-driven Data Entry Officer (Land Charges and Property) to support the smooth and accurate management of the council’s statutory Land Charges Register and customer enquiries.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected local authority team, providing essential support to property-related services across the borough. The role is initially for three months, with hybrid working that includes three days per week in the office.
*Contract: 3 months
*Hourly Rate: £17.33 via PAYE or £22.82 via Umbrella
*Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week at Wembley Park and 2 days from home
About the Role
As the Land Charges and Property Database Officer, you will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of Brent Council’s Local Land Charges Statutory Register and ensuring an efficient, customer-focused service.
You’ll be responsible for validating enquiries, processing Official Searches, liaising with internal departments, and ensuring all financial transactions comply with the council’s procedures. Your accuracy, organisational skills and commitment to excellent service will be essential in supporting the delivery of high-quality property information to residents, legal professionals and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
*Process incoming customer enquiries (phone, email, letter and in person) promptly and professionally.
*Validate, log and register Local Land Charges enquiries with a high level of accuracy.
*Maintain and update the Local Land Charges Statutory Register in line with current and emerging legislation.
*Conduct Official Searches using the council’s Local Land Charges and GIS systems.
*Liaise with internal teams to ensure timely collation and completion of search requests.
*Verify, receipt and reconcile payments for all processed searches in full compliance with Brent’s financial procedures.
*Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of fee income and search activity.
*Support the Senior Land Charges & Property Analyst with statistical and management information reporting.
*Uphold Brent Council’s commitment to safeguarding, ensuring the wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults.
*Carry out all duties in accordance with council policies on Customer Care, Equal Opportunities, Information Governance, Data Protection, Health & Safety, and Emergency Planning.
