Hainault, Redbridge | £95-£100 per day (PAYE) | 8:30am-3:30pm | Start Date: March 2026
Tradewind Recruitment are pleased to be working with a supportive, high-performing Primary School in Hainault, Redbridge, who are seeking a Portuguese-speaking Teaching Assistant to join their team from March 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 and helping children with English as an Additional Language (EAL) to thrive in the classroom. The school are specifically looking for a Teaching Assistant who speaks Portuguese.
The successful candidate will be working within a Year 6 class (pupils aged 10-11) at a welcoming and well-regarded school known for its strong leadership, inclusive ethos and commitment to pupil success. The role will involve providing targeted support for a Portuguese-speaking pupil who is developing their English language skills.
The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who is able to communicate confidently in both Portuguese and English, supporting the pupil in understanding lessons, building confidence with English and fully accessing the Year 6 curriculum during this important stage of their education.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom
*Providing dedicated support for a Portuguese-speaking pupil with EAL
*Helping the pupil develop confidence in spoken and written English
*Supporting the wider classroom environment where required
The ideal candidate will:
*Be fluent in Portuguese and English
*Have experience working with children in a school or educational setting (desirable)
*Be patient, supportive and enthusiastic about helping pupils succeed
*Have an understanding of supporting children with EAL
*Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, offering a daily rate of £95-£100 PAYE, depending on experience.
The school provides a friendly and collaborative working environment, with a strong focus on supporting both pupils and staff.
