Job Description:
Our client based in Worcestershire is in need of a Management Accountant to join their business. The role is 5 days a week on-site, and is paying between £40-45k per annum. Experience in manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
What you’ll do:
*Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, ensuring all financial information is presented clearly and in accordance with company deadlines.
*Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing reliable data analysis and insightful commentary to aid decision-making across the organisation.
*Collaborate closely with operational teams to monitor financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements that align with organisational goals.
*Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors during year-end processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
*Maintain robust internal controls by reviewing existing procedures, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices throughout the finance function.
*Produce detailed variance analysis reports, highlighting key movements against budget and prior periods, while offering clear explanations for stakeholders.
*Contribute to cash flow management by preparing forecasts, monitoring actuals, and supporting treasury activities as required by the business.
*Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and promptly, including balance sheet accounts and intercompany transactions.
*Participate in ad hoc projects such as system upgrades or process enhancements that drive efficiency within the finance department.
*Provide guidance and support to junior members of the finance team, fostering a nurturing environment focused on continuous learning.
What you bring:
*You have proven experience preparing management accounts within a manufacturing or similar environment, demonstrating reliability under tight deadlines.
*Your excellent interpersonal skills enable you to collaborate effectively with both finance colleagues and wider operational teams.
*You possess strong analytical abilities that allow you to interpret complex data sets and present findings in an accessible manner for non-finance stakeholders.
*Your attention to detail ensures accuracy in all aspects of reporting, reconciliation, and compliance activities.
*You are comfortable using accounting software packages (such as Sage or SAP) alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data manipulation.
*You bring a nurturing attitude when supporting junior team members or sharing knowledge across departments.
*You hold (or are studying towards) a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.
*Your understanding of budgeting processes enables you to contribute meaningfully during planning cycles.
*You demonstrate sensitivity when handling confidential information or addressing queries from colleagues at all levels.
*Experience participating in process improvement initiatives or system upgrades would be advantageous but not essential.
