Job Description:
Your new companyI am partnered with an ever-growing insurance firm based in London that is looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join its close-knit finance team on a permanent basis. The firm is well established and highly respected within the industry. This role will be based from their London office on a hybrid basis, with 2 days in the office and the remainder working from home.
Your new role
As a Finance Assistant, you’ll support the Finance team with day-to-day activities, working closely with senior finance stakeholders and providing wider business support where required. The role is varied, combining core finance administration with exposure to projects and process improvement initiatives.
*Logging, coding, scanning and processing invoices
*Logging, coding, scanning and processing employee expenses (including credit card expenses) and coordinating approvals
*Producing expense reports and running payment processes (claims, invoices and employee expenses)
*Supporting treasury processes and maintaining the approved supplier list
*Preparing the expense accruals process
*Administering finance policies and procedures
*Managing the Accounts Payable mailbox
*Supporting an automation project to improve the payment run process
*Assisting with ad-hoc tasks and projects, including year-end support, annual data collections, delegated authority processes, and finance SharePoint maintenance
*Acting as part of the first line of defence for risk identification and reporting, in line with internal governance
*Contributing to a security-aware culture and complying with information security policies and training requirements
What you’ll need to succeed
*At least 2 years’ experience working in a finance role
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
*Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities
*Experience or an interest in the insurance sector is beneficial but not essential
*Comfort working in a regulated environment, adhering to conduct rules and regulatory obligations (FCA/PRA aligned)
