Your New Role
As Procurement Manager (Category Manager), you will lead procurement activity across a range of spend categories, acting as a trusted business partner to assigned directorates. You will:
*Develop and deliver category strategies aligned to business priorities.
*Manage end-to-end procurement including market analysis, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
*Ensure compliance with Procurement Policy, PCR 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
*Support stakeholders with specification development, commercial guidance and contract management.
*Build strong supplier relationships and drive performance, value and continuous improvement.
*Analyse spend data to identify opportunities, manage forward plans and maintain accurate contract information.
*Provide training, advice and mentoring to colleagues where required.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
*CIPS qualified, working towards CIPS, or equivalent procurement experience.
*Strong commercial awareness and proven experience managing end-to-end procurements.
*Knowledge of PCR 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
*Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
*Strong Excel capability and confidence working with complex data.
*A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to influence and drive improvement.
