Performing Arts Technician
Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 (FTE) depending on experience
Hours: Full-time or part-time considered, term time only
Start: September 2026 Location: Hertfordshire
Contract: Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Performing Arts Technician to join a vibrant and well-resourced secondary school in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality performances and curriculum-based learning in Drama, Music, and Dance.
About the Role:
You will work closely with teaching staff and students, providing technical and practical support across all performing arts disciplines. Your responsibilities will include:
*Setting up and operating lighting, sound, and multimedia equipment for lessons, rehearsals, and performances
*Supporting practical lessons and assessments
*Maintaining and organising equipment, instruments, and performance spaces
*Assisting with the planning and delivery of school productions and events
*Supporting extracurricular activities, including concerts, shows, and external trips
About You:
We’re looking for a proactive and adaptable individual with a passion for the performing arts. You should have:
*Experience with technical theatre equipment (lighting, sound, AV systems)
*Good organisational and communication skills
*The ability to work independently and as part of a team
*A commitment to supporting young people and their creative development
Previous experience in a school or educational setting is desirable, but not essential. Training and development opportunities will be provided for the right candidate.
