Job Description:
Senior Business Support Officer
*Hourly Rate: £13.69 PAYE
*Location: S1 and S9 / Hybrid (after training)
*Job Type: Full-time (37 hours per week, 8:45 to 5:15 Monday to Thursday, and until 5:45 on Fridays)
We are seeking two Senior Business Support Officers (SBSOs) to join our client in their Safeguarding Hub and Amber Service. These roles are crucial in providing administrative and organisational support within environments that deal with the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Day-to-day of the role:
Safeguarding Hub – Senior Business Support Officer
*Serve as the first point of contact for public and professionals raising concerns about children or young people.
*Handle a high volume of calls, processing approximately 120 calls per day related to safeguarding concerns.
*Record and log information accurately within the case management system.
*Process referrals and ensure they are routed to the appropriate teams.
*Support social workers by ensuring information is complete, timely, and clearly recorded.
Amber Service – Senior Business Support Officer
*Take minutes for sensitive and multi-agency meetings.
*Prepare and distribute agendas, action logs, and follow-up documents.
*Manage administrative workflows, ensuring prompt and accurate record-keeping.
*Support financial administration tasks such as processing invoices, raising purchase orders, and issuing shopping vouchers for families in need.
*Assist with urgent tasks like processing forms for emergency accommodation or food support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
*Strong administrative or customer-facing experience.
*Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in minute-taking.
*High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
*Ability to stay calm, professional, and focused during challenging conversations.
*Resilience and emotional maturity to handle distressing information.
*Strong organisational and time-management skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
