Job Description:
Teaching Assistant – SEMH Provision (Blackpool)
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
Age Range: Year 6–Year 11 (working across age groups)
This specialist secondary provision supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan. The school is a purpose-built environment designed to meet the needs of up to 48 students from Year 6 to Year 11, offering a range of tailored curriculum pathways. Pupils receive access to core subjects, meaningful qualifications, and therapeutic interventions that enable them to thrive and fully engage in school life.
The school is seeking a skilled and resilient Teaching Assistant who is confident working with children who present challenging behaviours. You will play a key role in promoting positive relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and helping students access learning throughout the school day.
Requirements:
*Excellent behaviour management skills
*Immediate, full-time availability
*Experience dealing with challenging behaviour, either in a school or care setting
*Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List
*Positive, resilient attitude
