Job Description:
Children’s Residential Support Worker (Nights)
Location: Doncaster
Service: Children’s residential home supporting children with learning difficulties
Hours: 40 per week
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Pay: £12.25 - £13 per hour depending on experience
The Role
This role provides stable overnight presence and continuity of care through waking nights, supporting children’s safety, routines and wellbeing. You’ll work within a well-staffed team and follow clear care plans and safeguarding procedures.
What You’ll Do
*Provide a calm, reliable overnight presence
*Respond appropriately to any night-time needs and complete handovers
*Maintain safeguarding, recording and incident reporting standards
*Contribute to morning routines and continuity of care with the day team
*Work to a rota (no back-to-back shifts)
What We’re Looking For
Essential
*Minimum 1 years’ experience in children’s residential care or similar LD/ASC support
*Driver with access to a vehicle
*Able to commit to minimum 40 hours per week
Desirable
*Experience with learning difficulties, ASC and positive behaviour support
*Strong recording/communication skills

*Competitive hourly rate (DOE)
*NVQ provided after probation
*Consistent cover model: 18 staff total, 7 on shift
