Purpose of the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENDCo to lead and coordinate provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will ensure that all pupils receive personalised, high-quality support to help them achieve their full potential.

About the Client

Our client is a specialist educational provision supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

They provide a nurturing environment with small class sizes and tailored support, enabling students who have faced challenges in mainstream education to re-engage and succeed.
The provision supports young people aged 11-19, focusing on building resilience, confidence, and a positive attitude toward learning, while preparing them for future academic and life success.

Key Responsibilities
*Lead the identification, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of pupils with SEND
*Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
*Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant statutory requirements
*Coordinate and deliver staff training on SEND strategies, differentiation, and inclusive teaching
*Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing, adapting provision as required
Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*SENDCo accreditation (or willingness to undertake)
*Proven experience coordinating SEND provision within a complex educational setting
*Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education
*Ability to lead, motivate, and support staff effectively
*Experience developing and implementing SEND strategies and measuring impact
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with staff, pupils, families, and external professionals
