Job Title: Cover Supervisor (Secondary)
Location: Durham, County Durham
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Flexible
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Salary: £105-£130 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the RoleWe are currently recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in education or those seeking flexible work within a school setting.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and complete pre-set work. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive and structured learning environment across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities*Supervise classes and deliver pre-planned work in the teacher’s absence
*Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
*Ensure a focused and productive learning environment
*Provide clear instructions and support to students as needed
*Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
*Assist with general school duties where required
Person Specification*GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Confidence managing groups of students
*A proactive, flexible approach to working in different schools
*A genuine interest in supporting young people and education
