HGV Technician

Salary 45-50k DOE
22 holidays plus bank holidays. Early finish Fridays. Flexi time. Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Technician to join our vehicle maintenance team. The role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty vehicles, including refuse vehicles, to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
*Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy vehicles and associated equipment.
*Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with legal and company standards.
*Prepare vehicles for MOTs and carry out safety checks.
*Maintain accurate service logs and complete job documentation.
*Collaborate with the workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime.
Candidate Requirements
*Hands-on experience with HGVs, waste/refuse vehicles, or similar plant machinery.
*Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
*Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
*Able to work independently in a busy workshop environment while following safety procedures.
*Full UK driving licence; HGV licence is advantageous but not required.
