Description
*Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial and Head Office reports, including LCR and Bank of England returns.
*Maintain accurate daily General Ledger controls through reconciliations and review of T24 entries.
*Process invoices, prepare payment entries, and manage supplier payments through the Faster Payment system.
*Complete quarterly VAT returns across branches and subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
*Update and reconcile daily bank positions, clearing outstanding items and confirming external clearing payments.
*Support operational teams by responding to queries and providing day-to-day assistance on finance processes.
*Ensure adherence to regulatory, risk, and internal control requirements, following all policies and procedures.
*Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, resolving discrepancies, and enhancing reporting accuracy.
Profile
A successful Finance Operations Officer should have:
*Minimum 3 years’ banking experience with excellent attention to detail.
*SME banking background and the ability to work hands-on across teams.
*Good analytical skills and confidence with Excel and core financial systems.
*Knowledge of regulatory reporting, VAT, payment schemes, and compliance.
*Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
*A proactive mindset focused on organisation, accuracy, and process improvement.
