Job Description:
Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Physical Disabilities)
Location: South Birmingham (Primary School)
Contract: Long-term, Full-time
The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1-to-1 support for a bright, determined primary pupil with physical disabilities. This isn’t just about "helping"-it’s about empowering a child to navigate their school day with confidence, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum and school life.
What you’ll be doing:
*Providing tailored 1:1 classroom support to help the pupil engage with lessons.
*Assisting with mobility and personal care (training provided where necessary).
*Collaborating with the SENCO, class teacher, and external therapists to implement IEPs.
*Building a strong, trusting relationship that fosters both academic and emotional growth.
What we’re looking for:
*Experience: Previous experience supporting children with Physical Disabilities or SEN is highly desirable.
*Attributes: You are patient, physically active, and have a "can-do" attitude.
*Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with parents and staff.
*Commitment: As this is a long-term role, we need someone who can offer the child stability and consistency.
