Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)
The Role
An established and growing consultancy in Manchester is looking to bring in a Geotechnical Engineer to support a wide range of infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects across the UK. This is a hands-on role offering a mix of site work, design, and reporting, with clear progression opportunities as the team continues to expand.
You’ll be joining a close-knit technical team where your input is valued, and you’ll have the chance to work across the full project lifecycle-from ground investigation through to design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
*Carrying out and supervising ground investigations
*Logging soil and rock in accordance with current standards
*Producing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
*Undertaking foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks assessments
*Liaising with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
*Supporting junior staff and contributing to project delivery
Requirements
*Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
*2-5 years’ relevant UK experience
*Good understanding of ground investigation techniques and geotechnical principles
*Experience in report writing and basic design calculations
*Working knowledge of UK standards (e.g. Eurocodes)
*Full UK driving licence
