About the Role
Merton Council is seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
You will deliver high-quality social work services in line with the policies and objectives of the Children, Schools & Families department, ensuring the safeguarding and promotion of welfare remains at the heart of your practice.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage a caseload of children and families within the CWD service
*Undertake comprehensive assessments of need and risk
*Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual needs
*Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver effective interventions
*Ensure appropriate resources are identified and utilised to safeguard children
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements
*Promote positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families/carers
Requirements
*Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
*Proven experience working with children and families, ideally within a CWD setting
*Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
*Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
*Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures
