Business Development Manager (Waste services)
*Annual Salary: £34k - £36k + £6800 car allowance + sales bonus
*Office Location: Swindon
*Geographical remit: Wiltshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Berkshire
*Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
My client based in Swindon are looking for a new Business Development Manager to join their sales team to drive profitable sales for their Waste Collection Division. This role is crucial for achieving sales and revenue targets through strategic customer engagement and effective management of sales processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Research and identify potential customers to promote the services of the Waste Collection Division.
*Maximise sales across the full range of waste management services offered.
*Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of sales prospects for conversion into gains.
*Build strong relationships with customers by offering tailored waste management solutions that meet their needs.
*Record all daily activities such as leads, calls, meetings, and quotes via the CRM to ensure accurate pipeline visibility.
*Complete contractual documentation for new and existing customers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clarity to secure long-term commitment and protect the commercial interest.
*Engage in daily communication with the Sales Manager to establish sales requirements, ensure seamless service delivery, and achieve required profitability targets.
*Understand operational schedules, requirements, and constraints.
*Work closely with the operations team to gain maximum advantage in the market.
*Assist team members when required to achieve new business gains.
*Achieve quarterly and annual targets as agreed with the Sales Manager.
*Attend weekly/monthly sales meetings as arranged by the Sales Manager.
*Build and maintain strong business relations through networking within target markets.
*Monitor and record competitors’ services and pricing structures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in sales, preferably in waste management or a related field.
*Strong ability to research and identify potential customers.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop customer relationships.
*Proficiency in using CRM systems to track sales activities.
*Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
*Strong organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
*Knowledge of waste management services is a plus.
