Your new company
You’ll be joining a well-established organisation within the Blackpool tourism sector, currently experiencing a busy period and seeking additional support within their finance team. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive environment where accuracy, teamwork and a hands-on approach are valued. Due to increased workload, they are looking for an Assistant Accountant on a temporary basis, with the strong possibility of the role becoming permanent for the right person.
Your new role
As the Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function with a variety of tasks, including:
*Assisting with month-end processes
*Preparing journals and supporting reconciliations
*Processing invoices and supporting Accounts Payable where needed
*Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
*Supporting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
*Helping maintain accurate financial records across the department

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys getting involved in different areas of finance and contributing to a busy, collaborative team.

What you’ll need to succeed
*Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
*Strong understanding of transactional finance
*Good Excel skills and experience with accounting software
*A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail
*Hospitality or tourism sector experience is desirable
*Ability to work well within a team and manage competing deadlines

You will have worked in a similar position recently and be able to hit the ground running.
