SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN School (Bolton)
Location: Bolton
Start Date: After Easter
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a specialist setting? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join a supportive primary SEN school in Bolton, starting after the Easter break.
The Role:
You will support children with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
*Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
*Support pupils with communication, behaviour, and sensory needs
*Help to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
*Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
*Support pupils with personal care where required
Essential Requirements:
*Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school environment (essential)
*A strong understanding of a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs)
*Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable:
*Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
*Experience working within a specialist or SEN school setting
