Full-Time Teaching Assistant (SEND) - Sheffield
Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a background in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Are you looking for a flexible and rewarding role within mainstream primary schools?
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work across a variety of welcoming and supportive primary schools in the Sheffield area.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of SEND needs within mainstream classroom settings. You will play a vital role in helping children access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
This is a flexible position where you may be required to work on a daily supply basis or take on longer-term assignments as they arise. This makes it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and adapting to different school environments.
Key Responsibilities:
*Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
*Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons
*Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
*Managing behaviour in line with school policies
*Supporting pupil’s emotional and social development
Requirements:
*Experience working with primary-aged children in a mainstream or SEND setting
*A strong understanding of SEND needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language)
*A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
