Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them with their learning, social, and emotional development.
*Assist the student in understanding and engaging with lesson content, ensuring they can follow and participate in classroom activities.
*Help the student complete classwork and other academic tasks, offering tailored assistance in a way that suits their learning style.
*Support the student’s emotional well-being by offering encouragement, building confidence, and fostering positive relationships.
*Adapt learning materials and teaching resources where necessary, to ensure the student’s needs are met.
*Liaise with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to supporting the student.
*Promote independence and encourage the student to develop essential skills for learning and social interaction.
Key Requirements:
*Previous experience working with children, particularly in an SEN setting, is highly desirable but not essential.
*A passion for supporting children with special educational needs, and a commitment to helping them achieve their potential.
*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
*Patience, understanding, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
*A positive, can-do attitude, and a willingness to adapt to the needs of the student.
