Job Description:
Scientific Project Officer
*Location: West Oxfordshire
*Job Type: Full-time, Typical Working Hours - 12 Month Duration (possibility to go permanent upon completion)
*Annual Salary: £26.5K - £35K, dependent on experience
We are seeking a Scientific Project Officer to support crop improvement activities in Africa and India. This role is crucial for advancing collaborative legume crop research programmes.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Process and liaise on crop improvement project proposals.
*Negotiate grant agreements and monitor adherence to timelines.
*Manage project finances and reporting schedules.
*Organize travel and logistics for meetings and audits in Africa and India.
*Maintain project files and database records with high accuracy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Science graduate, ideally MSc in genetics, plant science, or related field.
*Minimum two years administrative experience.
*Willingness to travel internationally as required.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; organized and detail-oriented.
Desirable:
*Experience with database packages and research budget analysis.
*French language skills are advantageous.
