Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Payroll & Bookkeeping Assistant to join a busy and growing accountancy practice. This is a varied role offering a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both payroll and bookkeeping within a fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in supporting both functions, working with a range of clients and ensuring all work is completed accurately and within strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Duties:
*Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls
*Ensuring all payroll information is accurate and submitted on time
*Handling Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC
*Managing payroll queries
*Maintaining accurate payroll records
*Processing CIS returns and dealing with related queries
Bookkeeping Duties:
*Maintaining accurate financial records
*Processing purchase and sales invoices
*Completing bank reconciliations
*Assisting with VAT returns
*Supporting the preparation of management accounts
About You
*Previous experience in payroll and/or bookkeeping
*Experience with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is highly desirable
*Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
*Good organisational and communication skills
*Confident using accounting and payroll software
*A proactive and adaptable approach
