Accounts Payable Officer | Liverpool | £ | Permanent, full time office
We’re working with a growing, multi-entity business in Liverpool who are looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of an Accounts Payable Officer.
This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced, high-volume environment, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the accounts payable function across the group.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and suppliers are paid on time.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Processing high volumes of supplier invoices across multiple entities
*Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, resolving discrepancies
*Coding invoices to the correct cost centres and general ledger accounts
*Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong working relationships
*Performing supplier statement reconciliations and chasing outstanding items
*Preparing weekly and ad-hoc payment runs
*Supporting cashflow forecasting with visibility of upcoming payments
*Assisting with month-end tasks including accruals and GRNI
*Maintaining accurate records and audit trails
*Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a busy, transactional finance environment and enjoys taking ownership of their work.
You’ll ideally have:
*Experience in an Accounts Payable role within a high-volume setting
*Background in construction, property or a similar sector, with knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)
*Strong understanding of end-to-end AP processes
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage workload effectively
*Confident communication skills when dealing with suppliers and internal teams
*Experience supporting month-end processes
*Good Excel skills and experience using finance systems
