Senior Quantity Surveyor - HS2 Civil Engineering / Groundworks (Freelance OUTSIDE IR35)


Location: North London HS2 Project (4 days office/site 1 day home)

Rate: £450-£550 per day (Outside IR35)

Contract: Freelance / Contract

Start: ASAP


The Role:


We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major HS2 groundworks package. This is a long-term freelance opportunity working on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, focused on heavy Civils, Groundworks, Drainage and Earthworks.
You will play a key commercial role, managing costs, contracts, and commercial risk across complex groundworks packages while working closely with project and site teams.


Key Responsibilities:


*Commercial management of groundworks and heavy civils packages
*Preparation and management of cost forecasts, budgets, and CVRs
*Pricing & Take offs from drawings
*Valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
*Supporting commercial reporting to senior management


Requirements:


*Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale civils or infrastructure projects
*Strong background in groundworks, earthworks, drainage, or heavy civils
*NEC or JCT contract experience essential
*Strong humanship with the right principles & ethics
*Ability to work independently in a fast-paced site environment
