Warehouse SupervisorLocation: Saffron Walden, Essex
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
About the RoleWe are looking for a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to join a growing and innovative organisation operating in a technical manufacturing environment.
This role combines day-to-day warehouse operations with team leadership responsibility. You’ll lead from the front-ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched accurately, while maintaining high standards of safety, organisation, and stock control.
Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations*Supervise daily warehouse activities, ensuring priorities are met accurately and on time
*Allocate tasks across goods-in, picking, packing, and dispatch
*Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
*Ensure processes and stock control disciplines are consistently followed
Goods In / Receiving*Receive, unload, check, and book in deliveries
*Verify documentation and report discrepancies
*Ensure correct labelling and storage of stock
Picking, Packing & Dispatch*Pick work orders in line with operational priorities
*Pack and dispatch orders to required service levels
*Ensure packaging standards protect goods in transit
Stock Control*Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and checks
*Investigate and resolve discrepancies
*Support full stock takes
*Identify and implement improvements to reduce errors and losses
Quality & Inspection Support*Assist with incoming goods inspection processes
*Manage quarantine and rejected goods procedures
*Liaise with internal teams regarding non-conforming items
Health & Safety*Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures
*Promote safe working practices and manual handling
*Report and follow up on incidents or near misses
Systems & Administration*Accurately record stock movements using warehouse/ERP systems
*Maintain documentation for all warehouse processes
*Support improvements in reporting and operational accuracy
About YouEssential Skills & Experience*Experience in a warehouse supervisory role (or a senior operative ready to step up)
*Strong knowledge of goods-in, picking, packing, dispatch, and inventory control
Desirable*Experience working with quality or inspection processes
*Familiarity with warehouse improvement methods (e.g. 5S, layout optimisation)
*Experience using manual handling equipment
