Senior Legal Assistant (Conveyancing)
Salary: £26k-£28k + great benefit package
Location: Brighton
Hours: Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Assistant to join a well-established and professional law firm in Brighton. This role offers the chance to support a busy legal team, providing essential administrative and legal support while working within a friendly and collaborative environment.
This position would suit a highly organised individual with previous experience within a legal environment, ideally within conveyancing or property-related work, who enjoys working in a fast-paced role where attention to detail and client care are key.
Responsibilities:
*Providing administrative and secretarial support to fee earners within the department.
*Audio typing and preparing legal documents using digital dictation.
*Managing diaries, arranging meetings and supporting day-to-day departmental organisation.
*Opening and maintaining client files and updating internal case management systems.
*Supporting client onboarding processes, including AML and compliance checks.
*Handling incoming calls, emails and correspondence professionally.
*Using the Land Registry Portal to obtain documents and submit applications.
*Assisting with completions, arranging payments and preparing invoices.
*Managing post, scanning documentation and ensuring files are kept up to date.
*Ensuring deadlines are met and supporting the smooth running of the department.
To apply for this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
*Previous experience working within a law firm in a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or similar role.
*Experience within conveyancing or property law would be advantageous.
*Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
*Confident using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
*Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with clients.
*A proactive, positive and professional approach to work.
