Job Description:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support a pupil’s academic, social, and emotional needs. The role requires a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach to help the pupil engage with learning, manage behaviour, and build confidence within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:*Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD and Autism.
*Implement personalised strategies to support focus, engagement, and emotional regulation.
*Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
*Promote positive behaviour and support social interaction.
*Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
*Monitor progress and provide feedback to support ongoing development.
*Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.
Requirements:*Experience supporting children with Autism and/or ADHD.
*A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
*Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN support techniques.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
