Job Description:
Joiners
*Pay Rate: £15.51 - £15.85 per hour (PAYE)
*Location: Berneslai Homes, Barnsley, South Yorkshire
*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (3 months)
Berneslai Homes in Barnsley are looking for two skilled Joiners, one for planned works and another for day-to-day repairs, to join our team in Yorkshire. This role involves carrying out all aspects of joinery work associated with repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment projects, including new builds. The ideal candidates will provide professional, high-quality craftsmanship and a customer-oriented service.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Carry out all aspects of joinery work on repairs, maintenance, refurbishment projects, and new builds, including first fix and second fix joinery works.
*Remove and replace timber guttering and carry out necessary repairs.
*Lift and fix carcassing timbers such as traditional roof timbers, trussed rafters, floor joists, and shuttering.
*Install and fix finished items such as windows, doors, door frames, boarding to floors and walls, sills, skirtings, and architraves on new builds or adaptations and kitchens.
*Set out hip roof designs for traditional and non-traditional roofs.
*Install PVCu windows and doors/composite doors.
*Apply PVCu trims and finishes to new works as required.
*Implement security measures to empty and vulnerable properties.
*Liaise and assist other employees of various trades, tenants, managers, etc.
*Work at heights using the necessary safety equipment.
*Maintain vehicle stock levels at optimum levels to achieve service efficiency.
*Submit all worksheets and documents relating to the job within the required timescales.
*Carry out Driver/Labourer duties as and when required.
*Work within the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent
*Full UK Driving Licence.
*Valid Basic DBS.
*Professional qualification in joinery or equivalent experience.
*Ability to provide high-quality craftsmanship with a focus on customer service.
*Experience in both team environments and independent work.
*Knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
*Ability to organise workloads efficiently.
*Experience with PVCu windows and doors installation.
*Comfortable working at heights and using safety equipment.
