Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000
Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional looking to join a dynamic, fast-paced finance team? Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Accounts Payable Specialist to take ownership of invoice processing, supplier management, and payment operations.
Key Responsibilities
*Process and verify supplier invoices in line with company policies, ensuring timely approval and payment.
*Manage and maintain accurate supplier records, including payment terms, contact details and VAT information.
*Prepare and execute supplier payments (BACS, CHAPS and other electronic methods).
*Reconcile accounts payable transactions, ensuring supplier balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
*Handle supplier queries regarding payments and outstanding invoices professionally and efficiently.
*Collaborate with finance and wider business teams to resolve issues related to purchase orders, expenses and invoicing discrepancies.
*Support the finance team with month-end deadlines and contribute to accurate financial reporting.
Requirements
*Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk, Accounts Payable Specialist, or similar finance role.
*Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
*Proficiency using accounting software and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
*Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing financial transactions.
*Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
