We are seeking a dedicated Temporary Lifeguard to join our team at a SEN school in Hook. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students during swimming activities. The ideal candidate will be vigilant, responsible, and committed to providing a safe swimming environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Supervise swimming activities and ensure the safety of all students in the pool area.
*Prevent accidents by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
*Perform water rescues and administer first aid as needed.
*Conduct regular checks of the pool area to ensure it is clean and safe for use.
*Educate students on swimming safety and pool rules.
*Assist in setting up and storing equipment for swimming sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Current lifeguard certification from a recognised authority.
*First Aid and CPR certified.
*Previous experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a school setting.
*Strong swimming ability and knowledge of water rescue methods.
*Excellent observational skills to detect risk factors and identify distress in swimmers.
*Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
*Good communication skills to interact with students, staff, and emergency personnel.
