The company
Nigel Wright are currently working with a FMCG business that, as part of continued growth, are looking to recruit an experienced Hygiene Manager to lead hygiene operations across a large, high-performing production facility.

The role
As the Hygiene Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance across a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Managing a team of colleagues, including several team leaders, you will champion best practice, maintain strict standards, and play a key role in site-wide performance.

Key Responsibilities:
*Lead and develop the hygiene team, ensuring all activities meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
*Oversee internal and external hygiene functions, including waste management and contractor activity.
*Manage pest control programmes and subcontractor budgets.
*Conduct regular hygiene audits and inspections, identifying improvements and implementing corrective actions.
*Deliver training to hygiene and technical teams to strengthen capability and compliance.
*Build strong relationships with supplier and auditors.

The candidate
We are looking for a candidate who has extensive experience in hygiene management within a fast-paced manufacturing setting, with the confidence to lead people and influence across functions. A proactive approach, excellent attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
*In-depth knowledge of relevant auditing standards.
*Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory hygiene or technical role within manufacturing.
*Strong understanding of safety processes and hygiene compliance requirements.
*Effective leadership, communication, and people development skills.
*HACCP Level 3 or 4
*IOSH Managing Safely
*COSHH certification
*Experience in internal or external auditing
