Locum Child Protection Social Worker

Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Contract Type: Locum (3-Month Contract)
Rate: £45 per hour

Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Child Protection Social Worker to join a dynamic team in Barrow-in-Furness on a 3-month locum contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in safeguarding children and supporting vulnerable families ???

Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need plans, and care proceedings
Undertake comprehensive assessments, risk analyses, and develop effective care plans
Conduct Section 47 investigations and participate in strategy discussions
Prepare high-quality reports for court and attend legal proceedings as required
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements

Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Minimum 3 years’ post-qualifying experience within Child Protection or Safeguarding
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004
Ability to manage a demanding caseload and work independently
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
