Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Surrey (commutable)
Salary: Up to £50,000 per year (DOE)
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (days & nights)
About the RoleWe’re looking for a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site. You’ll be responsible for maintaining production equipment and site services, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, and ensuring minimal downtime.
You’ll be the go-to person for technical support, helping production teams resolve issues quickly and efficiently, while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards. Accurate record-keeping using our maintenance system is essential to support asset management and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across machinery and site equipment
*Diagnose and resolve faults effectively to minimise downtime
*Work closely with engineering and production teams to maintain high efficiency
*Support continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects
*Ensure safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards are maintained to FMCG levels
Skills & Experience*Electrical or mechanical bias with recognised qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent)
*Hands-on experience within manufacturing or FMCG environments
*Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills
*Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, packaging machinery, and vacuum systems is beneficial
*Confident using CMMS and handheld maintenance technology
*Good communication skills and the ability to work across multiple teams
