Quality Engineer
We are recruiting a Quality Engineer for our reputable client (permanent position)
*Location: Melksham, Wiltshire
*Salary: £40,000-£45,000
*Bonus: Up to 10%
*Pension: Matched up to 7.5%

About our Client hiring a Quality Engineer:
An established engineering and manufacturing business with a strong focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement. They are now seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support production, process control, new product introduction and supplier quality across a technically demanding product range.
Key Responsibilities as a Quality Engineer:
*Lead quality activities across production
*Review processes, controls and documentation, driving corrective actions and improvements
*Maintain SOPs, Control Plans and other quality documents
*Carry out patrol, final and document audits
*Support NPI, APQP, PFMEA and validation activities
*Support design reviews, change control, fault finding and failure analysis
*Carry out incoming inspection and support supplier quality activities
*Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement work
*Support testing, SPC, process capability analysis and data-driven improvements
*Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and control of quality records and certification documents
*Provide technical quality support across Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain
Requirements for the Quality Engineer role:
*Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
*5+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related technical role
*Strong understanding of quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications
*Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
*Experience with process control tools, data analysis and statistical methods
*Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality system requirements
Desirable experience for the Quality Engineer role:
*Experience in electronics manufacturing
*Knowledge of IPC standards
*Lead Auditor certification
*Experience with supplier quality and incoming inspection
*Knowledge of PFMEA, DFMEA, APQP and PPAP
*Understanding of RoHS, REACH, traceability and product compliance requirements
*Experience with Excel, Power BI, Power Automate or Visio
*Six Sigma, SPC or Green Belt training
*Experience with functional, environmental or reliability testing
*Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement tools
