Finance Manager
Salary: Up to £70,000
The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established organisation operating within the events and media space, delivering high-profile experiences, digital platforms and content to engaged professional audiences.
As part of their continued growth, our client are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to join the expanding finance team. This is a newly created, hands-on role offering excellent exposure to senior decision-makers across the business.
You will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance function, managing a small team, and driving improvements in systems and processes as the business evolves. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact in a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
*Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team
*Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
*Take ownership of Group Management Accounts, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
*Prepare financial reports for the B2B division
*Review reporting for the Consumer Division
Stakeholder Engagement
*Partner with sales, marketing, and operations teams
*Provide clear financial insights and commentary to non-finance stakeholders
Financial Operations
*Review and approve weekly and monthly payment runs
*Prepare VAT returns and ensure HMRC compliance
*Produce statutory accounts for multiple entities
*Liaise with external auditors for year-end processes and tax reporting
Analysis & Performance Improvement
*Conduct financial analysis, identifying trends and opportunities
*Support strategic decision-making with actionable insights
*Monitor costs and implement efficiency improvements
Process Improvement
*Review systems, controls, and processes
*Drive best practice and continuous improvement within the finance function
About You
*ACA / ACCA qualified
*Experience managing or supervising a team
*Background in practice (audit or similar) looking to move into industry, or existing Finance Manager experience within an SME
*Comfortable in a hands-on role within a small team
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
*Advanced Excel skills (essential); SAGE 200 experience (desirable)
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across departments
*A proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment
