Location: Wakefield, hybrid
Working Hours: 08:30-17:00

About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Payments Assistant to join our finance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, with a strong focus on employee expenses and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
*Process a high volume of payments, including cheques and same-day transactions
*Manage and process employee expense claims accurately and efficiently
*Maintain and update payment tracking systems
*Support regular financial reporting activities
*Conduct self-audits to ensure compliance with internal procedures and controls
*Assist with invoice processing and reconciliation
*Work extensively with Excel to manage data, track payments, and produce reports
Skills & Experience Required
*Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
*Experience in payment processing or a finance-related role
*Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
*Good organisational and time management skills
*Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
*Understanding of basic accounting principles (desirable)
