What you will do
*Prepare staining and cover-slipping machines daily, managing solvents and stains in line with the SOP
*Maintain and troubleshoot minor faults in staining and cover-slipping machines
*Assess the quality of staining and cover-slipping through observation
*Clean slides before digitalisation and maintain interaction with digital scanners, including basic cleaning and maintenance
*Produce slide labels and update them via computer as needed
*Organise slides by urgency, checking slide numbers and sorting them accordingly
*File blocks numerically and verify names on cassettes
*Collect blocks from embedding centres and cross-check them against forms
*Remove excess wax from cassettes for seamless microtome cassette holder fitting
