Our Client
Mackie Myers are partnering a global partnership of more than 1,400 organisations across nearly 100 countries. Based in London, the organisation plays a critical role in driving international action and supporting country level progress.
We are supporting them in the recruitment of a Finance Manager, a pivotal role responsible for ensuring strong financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and full compliance with charity and donor requirements.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to oversee all day to day finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll oversight, and maintenance of accurate financial ledgers.
You will ensure the organisation’s financial systems, controls, and reporting are robust, compliant, and audit-ready, while supporting teams across the organisation with clear financial insight. The role is essential in strengthening transparency, accountability, and sustainable resource management within a global, mission driven environment.
Main Duties*Manage month end close processes and ensure timely completion of all reconciliations
*Oversee financial systems and expense management
*Ensure compliance with financial policies, donor requirements, and statutory regulations
*Oversee posting, coding, reconciliation, and review of all financial transactions
*Monitor balance sheet accounts and promptly resolve discrepancies
*Prepare and review month-end and year-end ledger close processes
*Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal/external audits
*Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes
*Ensure accurate invoice processing, income recording, and aged creditor/receivable management
*Support staff on AP/AR processes and contribute to process improvements
*Check payroll accuracy (outsourced), upload pensions, and supervise payroll journals
*Provide line management support to finance staff
*Support wider organisational responsibilities including compliance, safeguarding, and internal reporting
The Successful Candidate*Significant experience in a similar finance role, ideally within the not-for-profit or international development sector
*Strong understanding of UK charity finance and Charity Commission requirements
*Professional accounting qualification (PQ ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT, or equivalent)
*Experience using financial systems and intermediate Excel
*Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
*Excellent organisational and time-management capabilities
*Experience in team leadership and mentoring
What’s on Offer?*Salary £49,000 per annum, rising annually
