Customs Coordinator (Freight Forwarding)Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant clearance of import and export shipments within a freight forwarding environment. The role involves managing customs documentation, coordinating with internal teams and brokers, and resolving clearance issues to avoid delays.
Key Responsibilities*Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations
*Review shipping documents for compliance (invoices, packing lists, AWBs/BOLs)
*Liaise with customs brokers, HMRC, and internal operations teams
*Classify goods (HS codes) and calculate duties/VAT
*Monitor shipments and resolve clearance issues quickly
*Communicate with clients regarding documentation and shipment status
*Maintain accurate records in line with compliance requirements
Skills & Experience*Experience in freight forwarding or customs clearance
*Knowledge of UK customs procedures and systems (e.g., CDS)
*Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
*Good communication and problem-solving skills
*Understanding of Incoterms and international shipping
