The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established, family-run accountancy practice supporting a diverse portfolio of individuals and small businesses.
With a close-knit team and a down-to-earth culture, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality service, strong client relationships, and a supportive working environment. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their friendly team.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparing year-end statutory accounts
*Preparing and submitting VAT returns
*Supporting bookkeeping for a range of clients
*Assisting with payroll tasks
*Using various cloud and desktop accounting systems (e.g., Excel, Xero, Sage, TaxCalc, BrightPay)
*Communicating with clients to gather information and resolve queries
*Collaborating with colleagues to ensure work is completed accurately and on time
About you
Essential:
*Minimum 5 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
*Strong understanding of accounts preparation, VAT, and bookkeeping
*AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent)
*Confident communicator with excellent client-handling skills
*Able to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
