Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE) + Benefits
The Role
A highly regarded wealth management firm in Guildford is looking to recruit a Diploma-qualified Paraplanner to support its team of Financial Planners. This role offers the opportunity to work with a varied client base, including HNW individuals, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, holistic financial advice.
Key Responsibilities
*Draft clear, compliant suitability reports across pensions, investments, and protection
*Carry out technical research and product comparisons to support advice recommendations
*Collaborate closely with Advisers to design and implement client strategies
*Ensure all work adheres to FCA regulations and internal compliance standards
*Analyse client portfolios and assist with reviews and rebalancing strategies
*Support complex financial planning cases (e.g. retirement planning, IHT, drawdown)
*Maintain accurate client records and documentation
*Keep up to date with legislative, regulatory, and market changes
Requirements
*Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (CII or equivalent) – essential
*2+ years’ experience in a paraplanning role within an IFA/wealth management firm
*Strong knowledge of pensions, investments, and tax planning
*Experience with research tools and cashflow modelling software
*Excellent written communication and report writing skills
*Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases
Desirable
*Working towards Chartered Financial Planner status
*Experience using platforms such as Transact, Quilter, Aviva, or similar
*Exposure to discretionary fund managers (DFMs) and model portfolios
*Interest in ESG/sustainable investing
